The Leonid Nevzlin Research Center for Russian and East European Jewry

Since its inauguration in Fall 2003, the Nevzlin Center has promoted multidisciplinary research and teachings of Russian and East European Jewish history, culture and tradition at the Hebrew University. The Center hosts visiting scholars from abroad, fosters scholarly dialogue among faculty, postdoctoral fellows and doctoral students, and provides access to the Hebrew University’s extensive research resources.

While its activities are concentrated mostly at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, the Nevzlin Center engages in a large array of cutting-edge international research projects designed to promote scholarly interaction between Israeli and non-Israeli researchers in our, and in related, fields.

The Center has cooperated, and continues to cooperate, with many academic institutions and scholars in the former Soviet Union, Eastern and Western Europe and the United States, initiating research projects, conferences and world-class publications.
