Encouraging olim to continue working
in education in Israel
Over the past two years, hundreds of
Russian-speaking educators have arrived in Israel: teachers, project managers,
Jewish education activists, and more. The project aiming to acquaint olim, who
have an extensive experience in this field, with the education sector in
Israel, to establish a professional community and to help the participants
fulfill their potential was created with the support of NADAV Foundation and
the ANU Museum of Jewish People.
Two six weekly meetings (4 hours each) have been
organized within the Project. The first cohort met offline whereas the second
event, also supported by NPO Gvahim, took place both online and offline after
the 7 October attack on Israel by Hamas and it was decided not to postpone the
second cohort of The Guild.
Nearly 60 formal and informal educators have
taken part in The Guild until now. They familiarized themselves with the world
of education in Israel, connected with various educational organizations, and
received professional and business guidance from industry professionals for job
hunting, establishing businesses and projects in the education sector.
The Guild became a huge success, showing that we
identified a real need. The participants became a part of a vibrant
professional community. Many of them became teachers and tutors in Israeli
schools, opened their own educational projects, and started giving private
lessons.
We strive to keep supporting The Guild community
and share our experience and expertise with new Israeli educators.
