J-Doc was initiated by Nadav Foundation in partnership with The Leonid Nevzlin Research Center for Russian and East European Jewry at the Hebrew University and the Central Archives for the History of the Jewish people.
It is aimed at demonstrating the anti-Jewish nature of the Soviet regime and the struggle that Jewish communities and citizens endured against repressive policies and their attempts to keep their Jewish identity despite totalitarian circumstances.
For several years, we have been collecting thousands of documents in many state archives in the former republics of the Soviet Union. These documents will soon be displayed on the project’s website, which caters to a primary audience of professional historians and researches, as well as the general public interested in this subject.
